Over $175,000 distributed to 28 groups through El Dorado Community Foundation grants

The El Dorado Community Foundation has announced the 2021 Endow El Dorado grant recipients. Due to the unique circumstances surrounding the pandemic, the decision was made to allocate some of the grant funding to pandemic response in addition to the usual categories Social Services, Community Mental health, & Youth. In total, a little over $175,000 is being distributed to 28 different organizations throughout El Dorado County.

'Feel Good Movement' puts $35K into local economy in December

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. The “Feel Good Movement,” organized by Lake Tahoe AleWorX owner Luca Genasci, ended with thousands of dollars being injected into the local economy.
Genasci created the month-long December event that was supported by Overland Meat and Seafood Company owners Brian and Kim Cohen and the city of South Lake Tahoe, which gave $10,000 of the $35,000 that was contributed to local restaurants.
Genasci and Cohen opened $100 tabs at different local restaurants everyday in the month of December. With other community member contributions, the tab would sometimes reach over $1,000.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. The city of South Lake Tahoe made a donation Tuesday as part of the “Pay it Forward” initiative that is designed to help families and businesses in need.
South Lake Tahoe Mayor Tamara Wallace (right) presents a check Tuesday to Bill Martinez of the Family Resource Center.
Mayor Tamara Wallace presented the Family Resource Center with $10,000 to help address family needs.
“There is so much need in our community right now, and the Family Resource Center is doing their part to help,” said Mayor Wallace in a press release. “The city is proud to help them, help others, and give back to those who are struggling right now.”
