For much of our 35 years in Utah, Spiral Jetty has been underwater, visible only with lake levels below 4,195 feet (it’s presently 4,189). About 10 years ago, as the lake dropped, it appeared more often.
During the first week of June two Stansbury Island Fires scorched more than 13,000 acres. July also an extra busy month for firefighters from Tooele County, Utah and the BLM as they battled to control a flurry of more wildfires.
