New Bedford CFO leaving for Lakeville town administrator job
NEW BEDFORD As Mayor Jon Mitchell prepares to present his city budget for review this week, Ari Sky, who has served as the City of New Bedford s first chief financial officer since 2013, will leave to start his new job as town administrator for Lakeville.
According to the mayor s office, Sky will continue to provide support during the transition, including for the fiscal year 2022 budget process.
The Lakeville Board of Selectmen offered the job to Sky in March after reviewing two other finalists from the initial 46 candidates, The Gazette previously reported.
Mitchell has appointed current City Auditor Robert Ekstrom to serve as acting CFO beginning May 16, according to a statement. Ekstrom, who has served as city auditor since 2014, will continue to oversee operations of the auditor’s office.
