Kent County's library system has been named as a finalist for a national award.
The Kent District Library has announced it will be investing a $250,000 prize into the community.
The millage rate is actually 10.9% less than the previous KDL millage, saving taxpayers $3.1 million annually or $46.5 million over its life.
The Kent District Library is asking voters Tuesday, Nov. 7 to help keeps its doors open and write the next chapter of its story.
If approved, this new millage rate will fund the library system for 15 years, expiring in December 2039.
