A local organization is working to keep those most vulnerable warm during the extreme cold in Ottawa.

Various community kitchens, including 'Ram ki Rasoi' and langar by Nihang Sikhs, are providing free hot meals to Ayodhya devotees as the Ram Temple consecration ceremony approaches. Nihang Sikhs, ISKCON, and temple trusts from across the country, along with locals, are running these community kitchens to serve langar food to devotees. The langars offer a variety of dishes such as khichdi, aloo puri, kadhi chawal, achar, and papad. The service aims to honor the sacrifices made by Nihangs for the construction of the Ram temple.

As the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya draws near, a multitude of community kitchens have emerged to provide 'langar' food to devotees. These kitchens cater to a diverse range of people, from Nihang Singhs to ISKCON members and temple trusts from different parts of the country. Even locals in Ayodhya have taken part in this initiative.

Khichdi, aloo puri, kadhi chawal, achar, and papad are among the common menu at these langars with the supply of hot tea bringing respite to devotees amid the bone-chilling cold.
