Boston College will mark the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday with a symposium on February 18 and 19. The event, hosted by the Boston College Irish Studies program, is free and open to the public and will include screenings of films based on Bloody Sunday and a presentation from award-winning author Julieann Campbell.
Massachusetts native Claire Cronin will become the 25th US Ambassador to Ireland, and the first female to hold the role in more than 20 years. Cronin was nominated for the role back in June by fellow Irish American US President Joe Biden.
