For several years, there was a moratorium in place in Madison County prohibiting large scale solar energy projects.
Drews Parts has 30-days to request judicial review of the decision and given 90 days to cease operations.
The Plan Commission Tuesday conducted a public hearing in which most people spoke in favor of the new ordinance that puts conditions on the development of large-scale solar energy facilities.
The public hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the council chambers of the Madison County Government Center.
County Attorney Jeff Graham said Tuesday a draft of a new solar ordinance will be considered by the county’s Plan Commission as soon as November.
