The families of nine people killed last year by a co-worker at a California rail yard will receive $8 million to settle damage claims filed last November,
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority has reached a settlement with the families of eight victims of last year's workplace shooting. A ninth family did not settle, calling the offer insufficient.
Apparently the hands of attorneys representing families of eight of the victims in the May 2021 mass shooting at a VTA rail facility in San Jose were somewhat tied by the legal system, and the families are now settling their wrongful death suit with the VTA for $8 million.
