The B-Movie Queens

The B-Movie Queens Tom Jolliffe celebrates some of the most popular B-movie queens of the video era onward… Think of those legendary actresses of the last few decades. Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Scar Jo, to the recent impact of Margot Robbie. Big names, capable of selling a film themselves and a regular big screen fixture. Of course, compared to today, 1999 looks like 1939. Let’s begin…

The Best Free Movies on Peacock, Streaming Now

Peacock might have an unassuming name compared to the beefy energy drink title that is HBO Max or the clear branding of Amazon, but the NBCUniversal streamer isn’t slouching with its offerings. The quality of films in its vast library are by and large quite good (that’s what happens when a studio starts its own streaming service), with the added bonus that it has a free, ad-supported tier—which is even better than the likes of Hulu, which still charges a monthly fee in addition to running commercials. And its free TV isn’t bad either. Hiding behind the paywall (or the week-long trial ...

Rosamund Pike had to strike right tone with 'awful but fun' I Care A Lot character - Film News | Film-News.co.uk

NEWS 27 December 2020 Share with: Rosamund Pike and writer/director J Blakeson worked hard to achieve the right tonal balance in their new film I Care A Lot. In the upcoming Netflix movie, the Gone Girl actress plays cunning Marla Grayson, a legal conservator who runs a money-spinning scam on elderly clients with her partner, played by Eiza Gonzalez. Both Pike and Blakeson set out to make sure audiences still enjoyed watching Marla, even though she’s a nasty person. "We were trying to work out how to achieve that tonal balance where you can play somebody who's awful, but they're still fun...
