OFFICIALS of the PNM screening committee, chaired by party leader Dr Rowley, were due to sit until very late on Sunday night to screen individuals wishing to become PNM candidates for the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation (TPRC) whenever the local government elections are called before August 18. Earlier, TPRC alderman Kwasi Robinson told Newsday that dozens people had formally indicated their interest to be screened and he expected a late sitting.

PNM PRO Laurel Lezama in a statement on Thursday thanked the donors of four truckloads of aid which is now on its way to St Vincent which has been smothered by ash from repeated eruptions of the La Soufriere volcano.
