For starters, there was the very clear goal of lowering his 200m career best time of 21.29 seconds, which he accomplished on an oversized 300m track in January though for record-keeping purposes, his Michigan state record was actually 21.34, and he earned that mark the previous weekend at the American Track League on a 200m track. Beyond that, there was the internal mission of making sure he competed to the best of his abilities against the top athletes in the country, and the secondary objectives that he start well, recover his heel low and run the banks with urgency. ....
Udodi Onwuzurike Claims Major 55 Meter Win - - - VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA Twenty meters into a 55 meter race on Sunday at The VA Showcase, Udodi Onwuzurike started to roll. But while the Brother Rice (MI) High School senior did not have the greatest of starts, he certainly made sure to finish, leaning past Run U Express Terrell Robinson at the line to win in a new personal best effort of 6.25 seconds. The performance, a new US No. 1, was nine-hundredths of a second faster than his prelimary of 6.34 on Saturday. Robinson was second in 6.26 seconds, while Laurenz Colbert was third in 6.35, Gavin Schurr was fourth in 6.36 and Nyckoles Harbor was fifth in 6.37. ....
