Per new findings by labor analytics firm Lightcast, job postings requiring GenAI skills increased for 519 to more than 10,000 since last December.
The number of job openings in the U.S. labor market fell to 8.8 million in July, a decrease of 338,000 from the month before, according to the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Summary (JOLTS) report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Federal data also shows fewer people quit last month, bringing rates back in line with pre-pandemic levels.
Though more workers have jumped in recent years from carbon-intensive jobs – like natural gas extraction – to “green” jobs in renewable energy, the numbers remain miniscule.
