The Clarksville Neighborhood and Community Services (CNCCS) was awarded a $2.8 million grant for the City from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on Dec. 16 to protect children and families from lead-based paint and home health hazards.
The money is expected to help mitigate health hazards in 220 Long Beach homes.
Long Beach will receive nearly $4.6 million to clean up lead paint and other health hazards in the homes of low-income families.
