The Times is offering local readers a chance to share their poetry written during or related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As the state works toward a goal of recruiting more teachers of color, several local districts, including Groton, Ledyard, Norwich, and Waterford, plan to participate in a program aimed at diversifying the teacher workforce in southeastern Connecticut. Published December 27. 2020 6:46PM  Stonington -- The Eugene Atwood Fund will begin accepting applications for its 2021-22 interest-free loan program on Jan. 1, 2021. This will be the 105th year the Stonington-based organization has provided interest-free loans to college-bound students from New London County. In 2020, an additional loan program was added for those attending trade school.
