The Pennsylvania House on Wednesday unanimously passed a bill to require legislators’ expenses – including mileage, per diems, meals and rent for district offices – be posted online.
The state lawmakers charged with redrawing Pennsylvania’s congressional and legislative districts may soon do something not seen in the commonwealth’s recent history: use two significantly different sets of data to draw state and federal election maps.
The measure passed in a 3-2 vote after two hours of calm, but pointed, debate.
Because of census data delays, lawmakers have only a few months to create final congressional and legislative maps in time for the spring 2022 primary.
