102 mph wind clocked on Outer Banks; residents suspect tornado
The National Weather Service measured a wind gust of 102 miles per hour at 10:18 p.m. at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. Some residents of Wanchese — a small village on the southern end of Roanoke Island — said that they had experienced a tornado Tuesday night.
