DBPD Continues The Search For Murder Suspect

Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) says there s a reward of up to $5,000 for information or tips leading to the arrest of 39-year-old James Williams, who is wanted in the homicide of his cousin, Leonie Smith on November 23, 2020.  DBPD Looking For Man In Homicide Of His Relative According to a Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida press release, Williams is believed to occasionally dress in women s clothing to keep him from being captured. He s also known to have several female acquaintances who allow him to stay at their residence. They say Williams is familiar with the transient lifestyle and could be living on the streets.  DBPD does have a warrant for Williams s arrest in connection to Smith s death.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS or online at northeastflorida.crimestoppersweb.com. Bus driver is charged after mowing down a teenage girl, 14, out the front of her high school

A bus driver has been charged after he mowed down a school girl in a crash on the NSW South Coast earlier this year.
Zoie Bell, 14, was hit and killed by a bus outside Ulladulla High School at South Street, Ulladulla, on July 1.
The 61-year-old bus driver was charged on Wednesday with negligent driving occasioning death and not stopping at a stop line.
Paramedics were called to the school and set up a screen where they desperately tried to save her but she died at the scene
He will appear in Milton Local Court on April 15, 2021. 
The tragedy unfolded in front of horrified students and teachers, with paramedics attempting to hide her body behind a screen made of blankets minutes after the accident.   ....

It s a modern dilemma for pre-teens: old enough to get themselves to school but too young to get a smartphone of their own.
And it s a trap Apple is recognising with new software to let caregivers set up an Apple Watch for their young charges without having to buy a new smartphone to connect it.
Called Family Setup, the new system will children call home, share their location, or send messages from their wrists but will not open up access to the entire web.
And the new addition is being cautiously welcomed by education and cyber security experts, who say it could provide a useful stepping stone to smartphone ownership, even though it may raise issues for schools battling digital distractions. ....
