US Army orders XM813 production, delivery and support - Land Warfare

The XM813 cannon forms part of the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade programme.
US Army Contracting Command has awarded a $105.69 million contract modification to Alliant Techsystems Operations (part of Northrop Grumman) to produce, deliver, and maintain new-production configuration 30x173 mm XM813 cannons.
Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of 24 September 2026, the DoD announced on 7 May.
Alliant Techsystems Operations was awarded the original $37.67 million contract in September 2020 to buy long-lead XM813 items for the Stryker Medium Caliber Weapon System 30mm Lethality Upgrade programme. ....

Honeywell has been awarded a $1.1 billion, five-year base requirements contract by the US Army to extend its support for operational readiness of the M1 Abrams MBT.
The Total Integrated Engine Revitalization (TIGER) III contract includes an initial parts delivery order worth about $125 million for the AGT1500 gas turbine engine (pictured).

Third Redback embarks for Australia - Land Warfare

Prototype IFV to be assessed in the Project Land 400 Phase 3 competition.
South Korean company Hanwha Defense has despatched its third and final AS21 Redback prototype IFV (pictured) to Australia for the Project Land 400 Phase 3 competition.
This vehicle will be officially delivered to the Australian Army in mid-January 2021, Hanwha announced on 20 December.
The third prototype was specially designed to withstand landmines, IEDs and other attacks on the underside of the vehicle.
The first two Redbacks were developed and built in less than 12 months under a A$50 million ($35.75 million) test and evaluation contract with the Australian Department of Defence.
Those vehicles arrived in Australia in August and are being assembled with a turret developed by Elbit Systems. ....

US Army awards Abrams upgrade order - Land Warfare

M1A2 SEPv3 includes enhancements to lethality, maintainability, situational awareness and survivability.
General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is to produce Abrams M1A2 System Enhancement Package 3 (SEPv3) tanks for the US Army, under a $4.62 billion fixed-price-incentive contract announced by the DoD on 18 December 2020.
‘Work locations and funding will be determined with each order,’ the DoD announced, adding that the contract has an estimated completion date of 17 June 2028.
M1A2 SEPv3 is the latest production-standard variant of the Abrams MBT.
The upgraded configuration includes improved communications and better networking capabilities than the M1A1 Abrams, plus additional electrical power from an auxiliary power unit, upgraded armour, an ammunition data link to interface with advanced ammunition and reduced maintenance requirements. ....
