Loveth Young coming preparted at LFA 97 on Friday

While the first part of 2020 was not as productive as it could have been for strawweight Loveth Young with a loss in January to Vanessa Demopoulos at LFA 81 followed by the Covid-19 lockdown, the end of the year went decidedly better.
In her second bout of 2020, Young picked up a devastating first round TKO of Reena Norville at LFA 94 in October to get things back on track and build momentum heading into 2021.
“It was kind of a rough year for everybody, including me,” Young told MMAWeekly.com. “Covid brought down everything, but to go out with glory at the end of the year had me happy for sure. I’m grateful for the opportunity.

Nick Browne expecting tough LFA 97 title fight

Due to the onset of Covid-19, fighters like lightweight Nick Browne found themselves having one of the least productive years of their careers in 2020. Throughout everything, he somehow maintained a readiness that paid off for him with a win in his only fight of the year.
Facing Ben Egli in the co-main event of LFA 87 last July, Brown made the adjustments needed to face a late replacement and come out with a unanimous decision victory.
“(2020) was complicated but we got in touch with the LFA, they were having fights, so we stayed ready, stayed on course, got done what we had to get done,” Browne told MMAWeekly.com.

Women's MMA Weekend Preview: UFC on ABC 1 and LFA 97

I’m baaaccckkkk!
After taking a hiatus for my own fight, I can now return to preview fights involving other people. Before I get into this weekend’s contests, I want to quickly give a thank you to everyone on social media who offered me a great deal of support. The decision didn’t go my way, and I’m never happy about that. However, I challenged myself, moved up a weight class, and felt that I represented myself well. I won’t go into details and bore you with a rehash of my fight when what you really want to read about is the upcoming fights, but I just wanted to say thanks. The support I received before the fight, on fight day, and after the bout was amazing. I always say that without fans, there are no fights. No one is paying us to get in there if there are no fans, so to receive such support meant more than I can express. This isn’t the last of me; I’m not going anywhere.

One of the greatest qualities in a leader is to lead by example. It’s easy for someone to stand on a pulpit and preach about things they believe in, but it’s a whole new ballgame when it’s time to walk the walk.
Nick “Nyquil” Browne is a leader on many levels. The collegiate wrestler and All-American boxer has been an instructor at the All-American MMA Academy in Uniontown, Pa., for several years, and earned his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu there in February. Around the same time he started his career as a pro fighter, he started working with kids outside the gym as well.

It takes a different kind of person to walk into a locked cage and fight another person until one of them is either submitted, battered, or out cold. Not all MMA fights end that way, granted. There are decisions, draws, disqualifications, and other potential endings. However, the goal is always to win by stoppage.
