BASILE Decades ago, the people of Basile passed a tax to fund improvements at its schools, and the money has been used in different ways over the years, from constructing a new high school in the 80s to providing 45 Promethean Titanium ActivPanels for the city s two schools this spring.
Installation of the panels, which operate like giant tablets, took place in January, and teachers at Basile High and W.W. Stewart Elementary have seen a noticeable difference over their smartboard predecessors that had become outdated.
It made a difference right away,  said Krystle Smith, who teaches seventh-grade math at Basile High. It s the easiest piece of technology I ve ever known. ....
