아프리카 북부의 리비아 난민 수용소에서 생필품을 얻으려던 여성들이 성관계를 강요받았다는 끔찍한 실태가 드러났다.
비정부기구(NGO) 국제앰네스티는 아프리카 북부 리비아에 설치된 난민 수용소 실태 보고서를 15일(현지시간) 발표했다. 이 보고서에는 리비아 트리폴리의 난민 수용소에 구금된 14~50세 남녀 53명의 인터뷰가 담겼다. 이들은 나이지리아, 소말리아, 시리아 등 다양한 국적자들로 대부분 구금 상태인 것으로 알려졌다.
보고서는 수용소에 구금된 여성들이 물·음식 등 필수품을 얻거나, 화장실을 가기 위해 간수들로부터 성관계를 요구받았다고 증언했다. 한 여성은 “수용소 간수가 깨끗한 물을 주는 대가로 성관계를 요구했다”며 “간수는 이를 거절한 여성에게 총으로 등을 눌러 쓰러뜨린 뒤 군홧발로 허리를 가격하는 등 심 ....
