An announcement last month perked up ears and got tails wagging all over Johnson City. The city won a $100,000 grant â the largest of 15 awarded in this round of funding â from the Boyd Foundation to help build a dog park downtown. The foundation is the namesake of Randy and Jenny Boyd, he a former state official, gubernatorial candidate, owner of a handful of the Appalachian Leagueâs teams and current president of the University of Tennessee. This is very exciting. Have you ever gone and hiked Cape Split in Annapolis Valley? I have a few times and it is absolutely gorgeous. The only complaint I would have, is that you have to hike back the exact way that you came (a Linear Trail)…..Well…Not anymore!! The Dept. of Lands and Forestry has added 7kms of trail to the Scots Bay side of the peninsula, so the hike will now be a loop. It also has three lookoffs at Lobster Hole and Big Cove, and another two lookoffs at the 3 km and 4 km marks of the trail.
