Dillman Selected to fill Assessor's Position

Scotts Bluff County officially has a new County Assessor.
During this week’s Board meeting, Angela Dillman, who had been serving in the role on an interim basis with the resignation of Amy Ramos, was named to the post on a unanimous vote.
Dillman will fulfill the remainder of the term for the elected office, which will be up for a vote in 2022.
Before the vote, Management Accountant Lisa Rien noted that Dillman was the only person to express interest in the position.

Scotts Bluff County governmental units are starting to plan for the costs of upgrading first responder radio equipment in the near future, at an overall estimated cost of nearly $7.2 million dollars.
On Friday last week, County Communications Coordinator Tyler Rexus presented a preliminary plan to the County Board, saying the county’s share would be more than $4.2 million for base units and associated software in the Communications Center, plus the county’s vehicle and hand-held radios.
In an exchange with Commissioner Russ Reisig, Rexus said use of 911 surcharge funds from the state is restricted. “That money cannot be used on anything radio-related,” said Rexus.

Following months of discussion and negotiation on a proposal by Andy Clarkson to transfer Scotts Bluff County’s Keno operations to a different business, the operation will officially remain with Lucky One for the time being.
However, there will be one modification, as Management Accountant Lisa Rien explained to the County Board this week. “Small Computer Solutions and Ryan Keller will begin the process to take over the business, but Lucky One will still be involved for the whole term of the contract.”  The term of that contract goes until the end of Dec. 2022.
