LACE UP THE SKATES
The Rideau Canal Skateway is closed, but you can go for a skate this weekend on Ottawa’s outdoor refrigerated rinks. The city says you must book a free 45-minute reservation for a skating time at www.ottawa.ca/skating.
Reservations will be required to skate at the following peak times:
City Hall Rink of Dreams, 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. daily
Jim Tubman Chevrolet Rink of Dreams, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. weekends, 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. weekdays
Lansdowne Park Skating Court, 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. weekends, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. weekdays
Ben Franklin Place Skating Rink, 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. weekends, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. weekdays ....

One year into the COVID-19 pandemic, there is optimism in one Ottawa community as shops slowly and carefully reopen their doors to shoppers that were there for them when they needed it most.
The COVID-19 pandemic has included lockdowns and the closure of non-essential businesses, while also imposing new rules on how businesses operate in a bid to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Nestled along the historic Rideau Canal is the village of Manotick. Boutiques and eateries line the main street; each shop, only steps from the other.

Localized flooding in Ottawa as mild weather continues

Ottawa police are warning of localized flooding in various parts of the city as mild temperatures lead to rapidly melting ice and snow.
Police said Friday morning there are a number of road closures in the north and south ends of Ottawa, iat the following locations:
Thomas Argue – Closed from March Rd to Donald B. Munro Dr
Donald B. Munro Dr – Closed from Carp Rd to Old Coach Rd
Farmland Rd – Closed from Craig’s Side Rd to Donald B. Munro Dr
Craig’s Side Rd – Closed from Donald B. Munro Dr to Carp Rd
Donald B. Munro Dr – Closed from Grant’s Side Rd to Carry Side Rd ....
