Mangel and Joker had started March 8 to complete their 480-hour Patrol K9 School training, officials said.
Joker, officials said, “excelled in every evolution of training he was taught and progressed to the point that he would have had the ability to certify under the (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) state guidelines even though he was only half way through school.”
Joker was one of three K-9s undergoing training to work alongside deputies to perform criminal apprehension and assist in the agency’s narcotics division and bomb squad.

Two Docs Brewing Co. has announced they will host the Barks & Brews Adoption Festival on April 18th. The event on that Sunday will start at 2:00 p.m. and last until 10:00 p.m.
For the adoption event, Two Docs Brewing is partnering with Live Oak Animal Hospital and the South Plains SPCA to find new homes for some great dogs. Two Docs will also have multiple dog-friendly vendors on site and according to the event s Facebook page, there will be tons of paw-some activities for the ultimutt time!
