This past fall, an inspector general's report from the Department of the Interior found that, since 2014, almost $500 million in federal funding for parks and recreation had gone unspent because states did not fund administrative costs. Now, the feds will help with those costs as well, and states and municipalities should start revisiting how they draw federal dollars for parks and rec.

CONCORD — The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation has announced that Grant Round 32 of the Land and Water Conservation Fund is now open. The LWCF State and Local Assistance Program of the National Park Service is intended to preserve and enhance opportunities for public outdoor recreation.
