There were large differences between some counties, with people in Dublin being far more likely to stay local. Around 78.8pc of people in the capital remained within 10km of their home in the second week of January, which the CSO says reflects its “urbanised nature with respect to other counties”. Behind Dublin were Wicklow (with 67.9pc) and Louth (67.6pc).
