On October 28, 2019 a 22-year-old woman was brutally murdered, and one of her former coworkers has admitted to killing her.
According to the New York Post, 35-year old James Duffy appeared in court in April and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the brutal death of 22-year-old Allyzibeth Lamont.
According to Mr. Duffy, he was a manager at the Local Substation No. 9, which is an eatery located in Johnstown, New York and he worked along with the victim.
Mr. Duffy alleges that he committed the murder under the direction of the restaurant’s owner, Georgios Kakavelos.  According to Mr. Duffy, the owner did not want to pay Ms Lamont for the work she had performed. ....

BALLSTON SPA – The owner of a Johnstown sub shop regarded Allyzibeth Lamont as a “ringleader” among disgruntled employees, arranged with a manager to beat her to death, and then made extensive efforts to cover up the crime, a prosecutor charged in opening statements Wednesday in Georgios Kakavelos’ trial for first-degree murder.
“Defendant took great measures to hide his act, but what he didn’t expect was his confidante, his right-hand man, coming forward,” Assistant District Attorney Alan Poremba told the Saratoga County Court jury, “He showed (police) where all the evidence was hidden.” ....

A former Johnstown, New York, sandwich shop owner has been accused of co-conspiring to have an employee killed in 2019 over back payments that he owed her, according to prosecutors.
Jury selection in the murder trial of 52-year-old Georgios Kakavelos began Monday in Saratoga County Court for the 2019 death of 22-year-old Allizybeth A. LaMont.
Kakavelos has been charged with multiple counts of murder, conspiracy, concealment of a human corpse, and evidence tampering, after LaMont s body was found buried in a shallow grave in October 2019. The 22-year-old had vanished three days earlier while working at Kakavelos sandwich shop, Local Substation No. 9, in Johnstown. ....
