He said: "In the coming months we will beat Covid - we will vaccinate everyone in our country and we will be able to remove restrictions.
"In the not-too-distant future, we will be able to reopen businesses, see friends in each other's houses and hold our loved ones again."
A roadmap out of lockdown in England was announced by Mr Johnson last month, where he outlined a plan to remove all restrictions by June 21.
More than 22.5 million people in the UK have been given their first coronavirus vaccine dose.

Steve Baker, Deputy Chairman of the Covid Recovery Group, argued the Government should follow its advice and open up the country for Easter. He added that the most vulnerable in the country, who account for the most deaths from coronavirus, are forecast to be vaccinated by March meaning the rest of the country should return to normal. It comes amid fears Boris Johnson will reveal his intentions to reopen pubs and restaurants last in moves that echo the last lockdown in a move many have argued would only further cripple the industry.

State pension warning: Triple lock in danger as 3rd lockdown forces 'tough decisions'

BREXIT is unlikely to have much of an impact on pensions according to recent analysis but despite this, the third lockdown and public debt levels could force the Government to take action. If the lockdown proves to be particularly damaging for the economy, it could even place the triple lock itself in jeopardy.
