A preliminary hearing was held, Jan. 30, 2024, in Kanawha County Magistrate Court for Izak Surface, 21. Police say Surface confessed to killing Lora Farley, 36, at his home in the 1600 block of Chandler Drive.
Izak Surface was charged with murder in the homicide of Lora Farley. Police said Farley was bludgeoned and strangled before she was found dead in a home on Chandler Drive. Surface was convicted of domestic battery twice in 2023 and charged with domestic battery earlier in January after allegedly pushing his grandmother down the stairs.
