"They need to make restitution. They didn't just kill mangroves. They killed crab, shrimp, snapper and grouper,” angler said of destroyed honey hole.
The resort reportedly told DEP a tornado ripped the 944 mangroves out of the ground. The National Weather Service told TCPalm there was no tornado.
The FDEP says they have launched an active and ongoing investigation after a Treasure Coast resident reported to them that protected mangrove trees were cut down.
