A brush fire north of Selah caused the closure of eastbound lanes of Interstate 82 Thursday afternoon, according to an alert from the Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
Fire crews have been actively suppressing multiple new wildfires on the Malheur National Forest in the past 24 hours. Fire crews are fighting the 20 acre Lost Spring fire that was first reported at 3:28 pm on Friday, June 23. The fire is located off the 16 road on the Prairie City Ranger District near Crane Prairie Guard Station. Resources on scene include one handcrew, three engines, and miscellaneous fire support personnel. Additional resources have been ordered. The cause is under investigation.
