With the ice gone, our concern becomes the need for rainfall. At this point, strong winds and low humidity levels are raising the fire danger levels. Fires have broken out here and there across northwest Iowa, and there is a lot of praying for rain. This is also the time to look at our lake levels. Big Spirit Lake is currently 11.4 inches below the spillway, while the Okoboji chain is 3 inches below the Lower Gar outlet.
