READERS weighed-in on the struggles of Whitehaven s town centre which traders say are exacerbated by a lack of parking spaces. The economy showed signs of recovery in March, but Whitehaven business owner Gerard Richardson is still concerned about traders on a local level. “The steady move of spending away from the high street to the internet became a deluge during the lockdown and as the trend was in that direction anyway, it’s unlikely that we will reverse it now, he said.
