B.C. Parks issued a reminder on January 15 that Lussier Hot Springs in Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park, located in the East Kootenays near the Alberta border, is temporarily closed during the pandemic. It has remained closed since March 20, 2020, due to the large number of visitors gathering there. Although new fencing at the main path entrance and additional signage have been added to inform visitors about the closure, B.C. Parks said vandalism remains an ongoing issue. ....
Posted: January 15, 2021 Lussier Hot Springs remains temporarily closed BC Parks today reminded people that Lussier Hot Springs in Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park near Canal Flat remain temporarily closed to help ensure public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional signage has been posted in the park to notify visitors about the closure of the hot springs along the Lussier River. Fencing has been installed at the entrance of the main path to the hot springs, but vandalism continues to be an ongoing problem. Park rangers have issued several fines to people who continue to enter the hot springs. Anyone found in a closed area of a park is in contravention of the Park Act and will be fined. ....
