The group recently won the Projects of Excellence award by the Master Gardeners Association of West Virginia for its work at Henderson Hall. WILLIAMSTOWN Wood County Master Gardeners were awarded a coveted Projects of Excellence award by the Master Gardeners Association of West Virginia for its Heritage Garden at Henderson Hall in Williamstown. The award included the 2019 and 2020 growing seasons. Master Gardeners are a program of the WVU Extension Service in Wood County. WVU Extension Service also provides opportunities for 4-H Youth, Community Education Outreach Service and traditional agriculture. ....

(Photo Provided) The Lubeck Acres Garden Club met April 15 at the Lubeck Bank of Williamstown conference room. Members in attendance were Judi White, Carolyn Stephens, Linda Seabolt, Keith Cutright, Dina Braniff, Beth Drake, Lynn Greenly, Mike Armstrong and Lynn VanFosson. Elections were held and White will continue as president, Luwana Rhodes will be program chair, Armstrong will be Treasurer, VanFosson will be secretary and Braniff will serve as Conservation Club chair. White brought a horticulture specimen, garlic mustard, which has a white bloom this time of year. It probably has the best taste when it has grown in the shade in the woods. She was going to saute it for dinner that evening. ....
