MultiChoice Talent Factory calls for applications for its sought-after film and TV training programme

MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) is inviting aspiring African film makers, including those from Malawi to apply for its third edition of the film and television training programme.
Launched in May 2018, the MTF Academy has so far given 120 students the chance to harness their expertise in film and TV, moulding them into skilled industry professionals.

Four Malawians have benefitted from the initiative Mphatso Makamo, Chisomo Livason (2020 cohort) and Chimwemwe Mkwezalamba, Jonathan Kapumba (2019).

MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy Announces Entry for Class Of 2022
The pan-African initiative is searching for 60 aspiring film and TV creatives from Southern Africa, West Africa and East Africa to be part of the Class of 2022.
Now approaching its third year, the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy is thrilled to announce calls for applications for its sought-after film and TV training programme!
Applications are open from 1 June to 30 June 2021 and are to be completed on https://cte.multichoicetalentfactory.com/Home/MTFHome
The call is open to all emerging filmmakers with either some industry experience or a relevant post-school qualification in film to apply for this exciting opportunity to hone their television and film production skills. ....

MultiChoice Talent Factory Launches The Colours Of Africa Short Film Series In Celebration Of Africa Day

“The Colours of Africa film series is one of the many ways that MultiChoice celebrates young film talent in Africa. We are proud to honour Africa Day by celebrating the work of the MTF Academies’ Class of 2020 in this way. The film series also speaks to MultiChoice’s commitment to developing and nurturing the abundance of young talent who represent the future of our industry,” says Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice Group CEO of General Entertainment & Connected Video.
The M-Net AfroCinema pop-up will also feature films from the inaugural class of the MTF Academy, as well as public service announcements (PSAs) shot by the Class of 2020 for the United Nation’s #PledgeToPause campaign as part of their academic course. ....
