The Fulton Flash youth cross country program has been the starting line for some of Callaway County's most successful high school runners since its inception 10 years ago.
COLUMBIA -- Despite moving up a class, the Fulton Hornets had a memorable Class 4 state championships Saturday at Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
Moving up a class didn't bother Fulton, as girls runner Emery Mayfield ran the fastest district time in Class 4, and the Hornets' girls' team qualified for state for the first time in 30 years.
FULTON -- Fulton's Kai Foster and Emery Mayfield won the individual conference titles, and they were among seven all-conference Hornets in the NCMC Cross Country Championships Saturday at Fulton High School.
