42-cent per-month cell-phone fee for extended a year, may go to county-wide vote
The surcharge helps fund the nine dispatch centers in the county, including dispatch staff, training, equipment, office space and the increasing technology that will eventually allow callers to send 911 texts, photos, videos and live streams.
