Command to make that order. i think on a more macrolevel, the fact these hearings are happening, politically it means is going to get some more focus. and it is going to be of vulnerability for president biden. i don t think there s anything that came out at that hearing that would suggest president biden was giving orders like that. that is much, much lower down on the food chain. the broader piece, the broader theme of exit from afghanistan is something that has to some extent not gotten a lot of attention over the last year or so. because republicans were in charge of the house right now that s one of the things they are increasing oversight on. that is going to have an impact. shannon: the other thing is the twitter files there is a hearing this week about really pressing people about the sourcing on this. they help with this this way. professor jonathan turley says is evidence amounts of broader censorship by the biden ministration a democrat attacks have become more unhinged and ....

Every time you hear someone say you guys aren t drilling, no, no our production is exactly the same. he says i m for fracking when he was trying to get elected now that he has gotten elected. he let out as if he forgot there was a live audience and microphone on. stop drilling i plan on stopping all drilling. how does that resonate with people in the oil and gas for a living. i suspect they find it annoying. [laughter] on a practical level it s just bad news for your personal economy but on a macrolevel for the country, and i can t speak for anybody but me, it s just another one of those situations where we either have to take somebody at their word or we have to wait for some sort of interpretive dance to explain what it meant or we have to just read the tea leaves and i think the patience that we used to have for doing that is probably gone. ainsley: we re sick of it. fetterman has said he has always been for fracking, meanwhile, ....

Hoping we would become more dovish on immigration, but that, of course, has not happened at least to this metric. but if you peel down one layer, harry, and look at the party a.d., what does that tell you? yeah, so as i say, on the macrolevel, not much changed but look at the party identification, along the wall on the mexican border among republicans. back in 206, only 55% of republicans supported a border wall. look at where we are now. in 2021, the latest polling, 88%. up over 30 points. opposition, 42% in 2006. now, down to just 11%, so republicans have become a lot more hawkish on a border wall and on immigration. now flip it over, right? flip it over to democrat. they have gone in the other direction. so, again, here s feelings towards the wall along the u.s./mexico border. in 2006, there were a lot of democrats who supported border wall. ....

And it turns out there s one issue that s a kind of decoder ring into voters intentions and identification. let s turn to the ring master, cnn s senior data reporter harry enten. harry, what is this one magical issue? i m still getting over that ring master, whatever that line was. it s immigration. it s immigration. you know, immigration s coming back as an issue, especially in republican primaries. you know, one really good way to understand immigration is feeling the wall along the u.s./mexico border. and i just want to kind of start off on the macrolevel. and point out that support for a border wall across the u.s./mexican border is the same now, 45%, as it was in 2006. 45%. the issue has not moved, at least on the macrolevel, despite the fact that obviously we re becoming a more diverse nation. i think a lot of democrats were ....

Macrolevel. this bill is inextricably linked to their destiny in the mid terms. their argument is if they pass this massive domestic policy bill, it will give people something formidable to run on and the argument is the effects of that will be immediate. that s why we have seen a rare link between house speaker pelosi talking to terry mcauliffe and those two both speaking because they see mcauliffe s political fortunes in this gubernatorial election whether congress passes biden s build back better. if they fail to pass that, it ....
