No. 1 North Carolina showed it’s human, but the Tar Heels remained undefeated with an 11-10 victory at No. 4 Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon.
The Tar Heels, who won their first 11 games by an average of 11.5 goals, jumped out to an early 5-1 lead, but the Irish weren’t going away. possession off the draw was where this game was won today.
After sharing reps early in the season, Syracuse s Katelyn Mashewske has emerged as the team s go-to specialist on the draw collecting a team-high 13 herself, and helping her team to a 22-7 edge in the category on Sunday afternoon vs. the Irish.

Katelyn Mashewske won a career-high 13 draw controls in Syracuse s 15-12 win over Notre Dame. Syracuse had a 22 to 7 advantage on draw controls.
Notre Dame goalie Bridget Deehan dominated the first half, but possession after possession for the Orange eventually became too much for the Irish defense to withstand. No. 2 Syracuse completed a weekend sweep of No. 3 Notre Dame, winning Sunday’s game 15-12 despite falling behind 7-2 in the first half.
Syracuse sophomore Katelyn Mashewske keyed the victory, registering a career-best 13 draw controls to help the Orange to a 22-7 advantage.
