Changes will be made like every other year, and especially for Fluvanna County Middle School (FMS), which will be welcoming a new assistant principal, Darren McCauley. Correspondent Fluvanna County Parks and Recreation (FCPR) put a twist on their Celebration of Lights event due to the current COVID-19 restrictions. In the past, there was a tree lighting celebration at Pleasant Grove with small activities, but to keep the holiday cheer alive this year, local businesses, churches, groups, clubs, organizations, and any who wanted to set up a holiday themed family-friendly lights display were invited to set up at Pleasant Grove Park on Dec. 18 and 19 for all county members to enjoy from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event was a drive thru experience and no walking pedes...

What brought you here? “26 years, teaching jobs brought us here.” Tell us about your family. “My wife is Stephanie and my two children and Erin and Conner.” What did you want to be when you were growing up? “A rock ‘n’ roll drummer.” What was your very first job? “An actor with Colonial National Park. I portrayed a British officer at Yorktown in Moore House.” What do you do for a living? “I am a teacher at Fluvanna County High School.
