Limerick people encouraged to explore three new cultural trails

Limerick City and County Council is encouraging people to discover their city with three new cultural trails this May Bank Holiday.
These have been created in place of Riverfest, which is not possible this year due to Covid-19.
Instead the Council in partnership with Draw Out, Ormston House and OpenHouse Limerick have created three distinct cultural trails to enjoy this weekend and throughout the summer.
The cultural trails celebrate Limerick s Street Art, Women of Limerick and architectural heritage and takes participants on an open air walking tour around the city centre and along the River Shannon. ....

Cork city observed a very quiet St Patrick s Day on 17 March 1921.
The Kerryman described a subdued city in which armoured cars and lorries and military on foot patrolled the streets . Pedestrians were held up and searched after High Mass and shots were fired in Grand Parade and near Patrick s Bridge in the afternoon. Since 10 December 1920, Cork had been a city under martial law.  ....
