For far too long it was a scene so laughably common that it could have been in a comedy sketch show. A sleek, smarmy salesman in a shiny silver-grey suit welcomes a husband and wife into his car dealership and proceeds to talk to the man about engines and horsepower, and the woman about vanity mirrors and baby seats.
