An Altoona couple were charged with child endangerment and drug-related charges Saturday after police discovered the family was living in “deplorable conditions,” court documents stated.
Altoona residents Kenneth and Sherry Meek were arraigned Saturday by Magisterial District Judge Andrew Blattenberger, and both were released on unsecured bails of $50,000 each, according to court documents.
About 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police accompanied AMED in responding to a medical call involving a 6-year-old, who was shocked by an electrical outlet, police reported.
While Sherry Meek was initially hesitant about letting first responders into her home near the 500 block of Fourth Avenue, police were eventually granted access, a criminal complaint stated.
