Courts complex remains top use for old jail site

While some county officials worried that a visioning session remotely held last week to collect community input on future uses for the old Grant County Jail threatened to derail plans to establish a central judicial complex on the site which is located behind the Grant County Courthouse ultimately what is done with the property will be their decision to make.
During last week’s commission meeting, District 3 Commissioner Alicia Edwards, who wasn’t able to attend the April 7 visioning session, said, “It was my understanding that we were going to be looking at the old jail as part of a new courthouse complex, [but] the chatter I am hearing is not connecting the old jail to the courthouse complex thing.” ....
