Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Feb 17: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, who is also the Chairman of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), today inaugurated the Annual Three Day Maha Shivratri Mela at Ransoo, base camp of holy Shiv Khori Shrine. District Development Commissioner (Vice Chairperson SSKSB), Reasi, Babila Rakwal was also present on the occasion. The festival hosted a variety of programmes which inter alia included Cultural events depicting local folk dances organised through J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages, food stalls of Dogra cuisines, departmental stalls of Handicraft, Handloom, Industries & Commerce, JKTDC and Agriculture Department etc. The main highlight of the festival is cultural events depicting local folklore.

Shiv Khori is one of the most important shrines which is situated in Ransoo village of Pouni block in Reasi district of J&K. Ransoo village is located on the Reasi-Rajouri road and is well connected with Katra, Jammu and many other cities of Union Territory of J&K.
This holy shrine is surrounded by green luscious mountains and is about 3.5 kms away from Ransoo village. This shrine has its own uniqueness and many pilgrims across the globe visit this holy spot every year with full enthusiasm. The holy cave shrine of Shiv Khori is about 80 km from world famous religious spot Katra in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
