Immaculata to open STEM Discovery Lab next year
Immaculata School has kicked off a major capital project that will include a Science Technology Engineering and Math Discovery Lab.
Nearly $50,000 of the $100,000 required to receive a grant of up to $1.9 million from Shea Homes has already been raised by the school, according to Principal Margaret Beale.
The Discovery Lab will have a Maker Space Patio and is slated to open in 2022 for use by pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students in the region.
“The new STEM Discovery Lab will be a dedicated space for hands-on, inquiry-based learning,” Beale said, in a news release. “Students will work together to fine-tune their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. As teachers guide their class through project-based learning, students will become masters of their education and take ownership of their learning. ....
