By Russel Hewawasam
(Lanka-e-News- 02.March.2021, 11.00PM) The Presidential Commission appointed in November 2019 to investigate the Islamic extremist attack on Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, April 21, concluded its work last January 27th. The commission examined the evidences of 450 people, including former President Maithripala Sirisena, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and security chiefs. The Commission concluded its proceedings by applying sudden brakes. Although the report of the Presidential Commission on the Easter Attack, which ended up blaming only those who did not prevent the attack, is incomplete, it is also becoming a boomerang for the present government.
Throughout the history of the country, the Presidential Commissions and other commissions set up to sabotage public funds have achieved nothing, the country and the people as well as to fulfill the hopes of the victims. However, some of the highlights of the commission's report, which received international attention, have been removed from the commission's report without being publish to the Cardinal, Parliament and to the public, citing 'sensitive issues related to' national security 'that could adversely affect the existence of the Gotabhaya Rajapaksa government (Creating, maintenance and support of extremist organizations) The Gotabhaya Rajapaksa government exploiting this using several clauses in the Right to Information Act that has so far ruthlessly criticized.

Dinajpur, Bangladesh, Feb 16, 2021 / 03:22 pm (CNA).- Bangladeshi Christians expressed concern and discontent with the local authorities after a Protestant church was reportedly vandalized and looted last week.
On Feb. 10, four Muslims allegedly entered the Emmanuel Church of Bangladesh in the Aditmari upazila, about 70 miles northeast of Dinajpur. The men approached on motorcycles and attacked the inside and outside of the church.
On the exterior, the perpetrators damaged the church’s sign and cut down trees. After breaking the lock, the attackers entered the church and took 30 chairs and two floor mats.
According to UCA News, Lovlu S. Levy, the community’s pastor, submitted a complaint to the local police Feb. 14, but the authorities have not taken action to investigate. Rather, the police have claimed that the incident was a land dispute.
