New Delhi: Amidst concerns about rising anti-India rhetoric in the Indian Ocean nation, the Maldives police announced on Saturday that it had arrested a man for threatening to bomb the Indian high commission.
The announcement comes a day after the Maldives foreign ministry advised the media that publishing âfalse newsâ against foreign diplomatic personnel would be detrimental to the countryâs foreign relations.

The family of the former president and current parliamentary speaker said doctors were “very happy” to be saved after undergoing surgery to save his life.
Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed is conscious and is deprived of life support after several surgeries, his family said, as police announced two arrests in connection with the blast seriously injured hura.
The 53-year-old leader of the Democratic Party of the Maldives government and the current speaker of parliament were taken to hospital when a bomb exploded as he tried to get into his car after his family left their home in the Male capital on Thursday evening.
